# How do I install a SILAB sensor?

SILAB sensors are **preconfigured by our team**: you just **put them where they belong**. Here is an example of a **dual-probe sensor** installed on a pipe.

1. **Prepare the pipe**

   - Place the supplied **clamp** around the pipe without fully tightening it.
    - If needed, neatly cut the insulation on the relevant section.

2. **Position the probe**

   Slide the **probe tip** (the flat metal tip) under the clamp, **in contact with the pipe**.

3. **Secure the probe** by fully tightening the clamp.

4. **Put the insulation back** around the pipe.

   :::caution
    The **plastic** tip of the probe must not be pressed against the pipe.
