# How do I add a checkpoint manually?

To add a piece of equipment without using Excel, click **Add a checkpoint**, then fill in its **location**, its **labels** and the **data type** to check.

:::tip[Lots of equipment to create?]
Use the [Excel import](https://docs.silab.cloud/en/portail-web/points-de-controle/importer-des-points-de-controle/) instead.
:::

1. In the left-hand menu, click **Checkpoints**.
